A-ha! See what I did there? Yeah, so I am not really fan of True Blood so far. I’ve only watched one episode, but it did not grab me like recent shows I’ve seen (Weeds).

True Blood comes with the highest recommendations from people I respect – my coworker and yogurt buddy Cori, as well as my hair stylist Dorene.

I think the premise is really, really interesting. A company finds a way to synthesize and market a drink called True Blood which gives vampires the ability to satisfy their cravings without having to kill everyone.

The problem with the show (and I know, this will sound very very picky) is that I thought by moving out to Phoenix (by way of Savannah GA) I would have escaped southern, hillbilly accents. True Blood gave me nightmares, but not ones where I was being savaged by the undead. Visions of a truck stop with a bunch of good ole’ boys is what had me waking up in a cold sweat. My friends, thats no easy feat when it is 99 degrees at 1am where I live.

I’ve been told that the show picks up after the first episode, so I’m willing to give this thing a shot. However, they better move out of Louisiana soon or I might bite myself in the neck!

This morning I took Kelly to the airport – at 4am. She is out helping her sister apartment hunt in Connecticut. So, that means that i am living the bachelor life for the next few days.

What does bachelor life look like for me? Um, about three seasons of Weeds on Netflix and iTunes, making some brownies (no pot in there although the show Weeds might have inspired me to do that) and really not getting out of bed. That show is so damned amazing, honestly. It has made me realize that there is much more to entertainment than just the same old shows all the time – for me, that would be Lost, Fringe and Top Chef. Last year around this time I came to love Entourage, another show I had heard of but never watched.

I figure I have about 2 days before I get severely bored. I’ll eat a bunch of pizza, pasta and junk food (those brownies I mentioned are almost done) and lay about, go to bed super late and wake up feeling like crap. Then, I’ll start to miss my wife being away and I’ll get moody. Then, she’ll come back and I’ll be my old chipper self!
